"Landlord just tapped, rapped upon my chamber door.
Said he's off racing, racing once more."

"With his Porsche, for the first time,
Hoping to win, I venture to opine."

"I smiled and said, Don't wreck for that would suck.
And, as he left, I said, 'Good Luck!'"

He also mentioned some bushes that he wants pruned...

Sheesh!

Is Spring not far ahead?

Best,

Scott

Hey everybody my grandson plays JV baseball. Coach called him up to be a pinch runner in tonight’s Varsity game!!! Woohoo!

When I was a kid, my Dad pushed me to be what he couldn't be....

I was thrust into DCABA.
(Douglas County Amateur Baseball Association)

A "Youth" Baseball league.

The coach asked me, What position do you want to play?"
I answered, "I got a choice?"

Well, folks, I knew a little bit about baseball at just 10 years old...I had a right-handed glove given to me by my Uncle.
That's cool...but I'm left-handed!

That meant that I had to catch balls with the glove on my left hand, quickly remove the glove, transfer the ball to my left hand to throw.

"Nah, Coach, I'm no good."

Coach encouraged me after seeing my arm throw after removing the glove.

(My skill of throwing led to my "Expert" Medal of throwing hand grenades in the Army....
That's a whole 'nother story...Made the Instructor crap his pants....)
OK. You want the story?
You got it.

Basic Training. Army.
One day, it is "Hand Grenade training."

The Drill Sergeant proclaims, "Today, you will live or you will die."
He had no idea of the prophesy of his words.....

So, I'm in a bunker, with my Drill Sergeant.
He gives his "speech" about hand grenades.

Yada, yada, yada.

I pull the pin, flip the charging handle, grin and look at him.

The seconds click by...
His eyes get big, and I continue to grin.

He yells, "Throw that *****!"

I calmly ask, "Why?"
Holding a live grenade....

He says, "You will die!"

And, I say, "If I die in defense of my Country, Freedom and America, I have lost nothing.
His eyes really got big and I then threw the grenade towards the target, a deuce and a half that sat about 50 yards away.
My toss went through the window and peeled the roof away.
When the drill Sargent raised from his position and saw the results of my throw, he marked on my "Scorecard," PASS!"

So, I saved up money from my paper route and bought a left-handed glove.
A "Stan Musial" Montgomery Ward glove.
That I still have to this day....

Anyhow, Coach worked with me and I became a pitcher.
A "screwball" pitch that NO ONE could hit!
I never hit a home rum, but, I could place my hits anywhere I wanted.
My batting average was over .750!
And my RBI totals were off the charts!

Years later, I tried out for College Baseball at the University of Kansas.

Dumb-ass coach didn't see my skills, after throwing from deep center towards home and hit the mark on only 2 bounces.....

I told Coach Bingham, "Your worthless team can keep on playing under .500 ball without me. I got more important things ahead! Adieu, Pinhead!"

Scott

You play with Scotty, you better play to win.
"Cause I do....

Scott,

I remember as a kid picking up bottles along the roads to get enough money to buy a Cooper glove they were like $25.00 back in 1960 so that was a boat load of bottles....you do what you have to do.

Life is but for a moment....
And that moment is yours.
How will you embrace your time?
Be there to help another.
Be there to care.
Be there as I would.
Be there....

I'm having issues....

My life is short, as is all who live.

Cancer cells are to be found in every one.
Cancer took my Mom.
Cancer is now on my doorstep.
Cancer is a dick.

I search for the answer....
I am a fighter....
I will win....
I spend my time looking into things of serology, microbiology and such to find a path,
a thought at least to show a glimmer of an idea of a vaccine, a treatment or an option of the pain that one suffers....
How can I help when I'm so ignorant?

Words have meaning...
I speak of meaning.

Dig?

And, let's get real, shall we?

An Ovation Guitar and Should I play it, I'll die happy....

Scott,

Western science/medicine doesn't really embrace the Eastern/Asian concept that food and herbs are medicine.

That said food that are high in antioxidants help to boost your immune system which helps us to fight off diseases.

Suggest you do some research into that aspect of things if you are looking for a magic bullet. Chemotherapy buys people some time but effectively kills and poisons both the bad and good cells and bacteria.

Ah! When the boiled peanuts soaked in Caroliner Reapers!

Seem as child's play,
I am looking for a new treat.
Bring your heat. You cannot win.

"cause I cannot lose...
