CRISPINS CRITTERS

The view from the top of Bald mountain in Maine. It was a long hike on my knee!

Hope all have a Safe and Happy INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Not called the "4th of July."

The world will, by proxy of the calendar, have a 4th of July.

But, let's distinguish it by calling it Independence Day!

Always my Best Wishes,

Scott

And don't forget the first American Patriots!

I hope my previous post didn't "upset" anyone's apple-cart.

If it did, you are probably too thin skinned to be in the sun for more than a few minutes.

But,

Always the one to say, "Oops!" if I do offend,

Here's some pablum for you.

Best,

I got those glasses around here somewhere!
Boy! If I find them, I'll be rich!
I Got George Washington's blue glasses!
I'm gonna go look right now!

Hmmm....

I found his weekend red glasses....

In the drawer of my antique "Bachelor's Vanity."

(Helpful image of one style of "Bachelor's Vanity")

Alongside of fireworks from a few years ago.
Poignant?

I wonder if they are still any good?

Ah!

Yes!
The search for the blue glasses!

Where are they?

Seems like I wore them not too long ago....

Best,

Scott

Amused yet?

For me, amusement is watching a dog chase his tail.....
I think to my self, "Stupid dog."
Then I realize that my precious time is being wasted.
Watching that dog.
And I wonder, still I wonder, "Who'll stop the Rain?"

As I will have to move, eventually,

I'm considering 3 factors:

#1) A place to live.
I've got a tent if it comes to that.

#2) A job.
I can find a job anywhere in the world. I'll say no more...

#3) A College.
I Must continue my passion!

To Continue to serve, in Support, of our Nation's Defense and Freedom to all who have and are now serving!

Always a Patriot, A Defender of the Constitution and a Proud Wolf Pack Member!

Scott

An historic "Bulletin."
I remember this broadcast.

Later, I served with many from this era.

Their stories were descriptive, understood for the most part but were many times dark, filled with thoughts like this:
"If I live another day, I might still get home."

These are the stories told to me that compel me to serve my Country as long as I draw a breath....

Let's have Kate sing it for us, shall we?

Best,

Scott

"Who keeps the wolves from your door?"

How often do you think of our Vets and Patriots serving now?

Me?
Always!

Most, like me, Volunteered....

"Though this Independence Day is surely an event for all..
I'm burying my treasure, and the Doctors are on call..."

"A hike, a skip and a jump or two,
You want the Treasure, Don't you?"

"And we reach the wall....:BangHead:
Follow along, you surely won't fall...."

"I'll soon lead you to the loot,
Buried next to a dead trees root."

You know where....

Best,

Scott

The fireworks sound outside my door; Those who are celebrating thus....

Many do not realize the PTSD memories of those who suffer from the "Rockets Red Glare."

Celebrate with thought this year my Friends,
And always be Vigilant, be Safe and be Happy!

Best,

Scott

The Battle of Vicksburg Summary & Facts | Civilwar.org

Yeah, as an American,
I was there....

I have it on good authority that Pemberton, though criticized by the south for surrendering, decided that he could get the best terms of surrender for his men on the 4th of July.

Best,

Cool! What elevation on that "hill" ?:laughing7:

1280 feet. The trail involved lots of rock climbing (stepping on rocks) but I accomplished it wearing flip flops. Everyone else we met on trail had hiking boots on! lol
My knee was sore, and climbing down was definitely harder for me then going up. Wife wants to go hike Ragged mountain which is right next to this one next weekend. It's definitely good exercise!

Why?
Because I love this song....
Over the hills and far away and Wish you were here, were the first songs I learned to play on a 12 string.

Like me, you probably learned this tune on a 6-string.

Thanks for the memory!

Best,

Scott

I'm feeling melancholy, somewhat sad....

I buried my treasure.

It is now out there for all to find.

"Postpartum" depression?
Perhaps.

But,

It is buried in AMERICA!

Hope all are well!

Best,

Scott

12 String....

This was always my favorite "Finger warm-up" and "tuning" test for playing my 12 string....

Best,
