COULD THIS BE SILVER ORE?

That ore is now in the backyard used as landscaping rock. Finally found a source rock that is looking good. Pretty easy to crush in my crusher, and has visible pyrite, copper, and another silvery mineral that I'm not sure of yet. Looks like some good stuff though.
 

Silver I have found has a heavy 'feel' and since you said the sample is 'light' that would tell me not to
bother with it.
 

Hey lastleg, Nah I never said the stuff was light in weight. One of the two things that had me take some of this home was the heavy weight of the stuff.
 

G'd morning peeps, coffee?? as Goody guy suggested, but the Hcl acid isn't really needed, just drop some plain ole table salt into the nitric acid mixture and if it contains Ag, it will turn milky color or precipitate into a curdy thingie, depending upon richnes in Ag.

a very simple and cheap qualitative test - Silver Chloride.

As they say, be careful.
