I was thinking about getting a coin comparitor or rydale for cents and maybe bags of coins. What do you think? Is copper hoarding worth it? I was thinking of selling all copper pennies for 1 and a half cents (since there worth 2 cents in copper) and setting all profit aside to buy silver. What do you think?

Also I picked up 2 2013 uncirculated silver eagles for much under spot, actually they where only 1 dollar a price! Got them as change from the local McDonald's!

Here they are!

Not really uncirculated if they were in circulation right? Lol
Just kidding man who the heck spent $60 bucks worth of silver for $2 bucks worth of crapburgers?

Oh ya I'd be hitting that McDs every day if I were you-

Yeah they where being circulated but there's not even a mark on them! Haha but anyways I like McDonald's but there McWhatevers are definitely not worth that! I assume it was a kid that took some of mommy or daddy's "silver dollars". Lol

Hey Killer that's a great score on the eagles. Wtg. Did you see them and ask for them or they just gave them as change? On the copper cents, I think it depends on how motivated you are to sell them. I hand sort $50/week right now and just hoard the copper so I don't need the machine as I would be buried in copper. Ill get around to selling at some point but I've never used eBay or cl and I'm not ready to right now. I've probably got $500 face of copper.

It's a shame what somebody would do for a mcdouble and a diet coke, great find though!

Thanks merc! Also the teller asked if I minded getting dollar coins since the drawer doesn't have a slot for them and I said ill take what she is burdened with and I got the 2 ASE's plus a Indian gold dollar, a one and a five. Best chicken sandwich ever purchased at McDonald's! Also I don't want to hoard copper really I like silver and gold more cause it requires less space. I want to possibly use any profit to buy silver but I wouldn't want to just hand sort through that many coins. :P

My only question is who's buying copper cents for 1.5 times face value? If they want copper why not do what you do?

Ebay (yes completed sales) and Craigslist. Also sorting pennies can take time many people that don't want to take the time just buy them. I would keep all Wheats/IH's and foreign for my collection. I just was wondering if anyone thought it was worth the tike it would take..

So you're saying you got 2 ounces of silver and a glad coin as change? I can't help but feel like I'm being lead on. Are we all really that naive here?

You can think whatever you want it doesn't change the fact that I got two more ounces in my collection Only $2. Lol

I have to say that if I had scored 2 ASE's in change at McD's that would have been my top story in a new thread... not a question about hoarding copper pennies. To each his own I suppose...

Still in the plastic when you got them back as "change?"

Two ASEs and not one but two gold coins? You sure it was not a McFish you ordered? Too funny.

No actually one gold dollar, and I'm not saying it was gold, I'm saying it was the "gold dollars" they make every single year. I swear you guys are just jellous you can't find stuff lime this. Sorry your luck isn't as good as mine was that day, suck it up!
Also they where not in the plastic, I put them in there when I got home.

Thank you, alot of people are trying to down the find for no reason. Seems like people don't like to see good fortune for others...

Nice find. I'm still waiting for one like that. I've been sorting copper pennies for a while now and I have a lot to sell. I am going to use ebay because its safer. I know that there are some people on here that sell $50 face value and make a $10-$15 profit after fees. Plus you would keep any other wheats and ih's. I think its worth it. I've been looking into buying silver but I'm more interested in buying 5 or 10 gram bars instead.

Just curious billionaire, why do you want such small bars? I prefer at least 10 oz and 100 is even better. I'm thinking that when its time to sell, I'm going to sell a decent amount all at once instead of a little here and a little there. Bigger bars carry less premium.
