How did you date it?

Very nice find, don't see very much Indian native copper culture finds found. Congrats and HH, Mike

Can someone please repost the pictures (in a small scaled version) that are larger than 200k-ish so that I can see them. My dial-up will not bring them in. thanks CARM

I had it looked at by a the owner of artifacts.com Kevin Dowdy, he said its from the Mississipian Time around 1200AD or so.

Great find!!! And you are right, only rich people donate. I sold mine to a museum.

very unique in PA.......HH

Cool artifact!
So was it found in a Native American type site or a drop in a settled area?

There was something like that found here in Canada, the finder said it was an axe the one he found, nice find for sure.

Very very nice find.unbelievable.

What a find! I say that should be up in the banner for sure. You don't see many of those.

Thanks a lot everyone! It is my best find yet, it was funny cause at first I thought it was a junk piece of farm equipment, then I did research and brought it to the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commision in Harrisburg,Pa. I met with the Senior Curator of Archeology, Kurt W. Carr, Ph.D. He and 2 other colleagues concluded it was a copper Celt/adze and that it was in the range of 2-4000 YEARS OLD!!! He asked if I would donate it to the museum, but I declined.
