Hunted an old cleared lot in Dallas and came across this cool piece. Brass I believe. It says ,"the State Fair of Texas" and Oct 12-27 1929. It's about two inches across. I do know that was the first year that the UT/OU game was played in Dallas. But I can't find anything else on this piece. It has loops so it was attached to something. Any info would be appreciated.

Also so found something from the Cawston Ostrich Farm that was in S Pasadena, CA from the late 1800's to the 1930's. Not sure what it came off of. Any ideas?

Those are some great pieces!
Gee, I miss going to the fair. Didn't go a lot, but several times and always enjoyed a bunch. Lived in Hillsboro and Waco from 1942 to 2007. It had been quite a few years since I had been to the fair when I left Texas; but if I get back down during the time it's open, I'll really try hard to get there! Too bad ol' Tex got burned. I haven't heard whether they have reconstructed him or not.

I saw the fire from Downtown, it was pretty massive. Yep, he's back already. A little different, as usual. Not sure how new it is, but I did get to see there's an exhibit of all the different Big Tex styles over the years. Very neat!
