Thanks everyone for playing.
I worked it as hard as I could. My goal was to break 500 coins.
I planned my route to limit the drive time and maximize the hunting time, hitting the parks first before they filled up with people and then some schoolyards. One park was a bonaza of coins including an area in the volleyball court where someone must have had a money scramble. The schoolyards were not that productive unfortunately. Oh well that's the breaks.
I didn't count the coins as I went, I just hunted and hunted and finally counted them when I got home last night.
Well, I didn't reach my goal but I did set personal records for one hunt total coins found and total face value!
OK... drum roll please...................
The winning total is....
479 coins found yesterday in my 8.5 hour hunt.
I found 80 quarters, 69 dimes, 71 nickels, 258 pennies, and 1 foriegn coin (a 200 peso Mexican coin)
Face value of the coins was $33.03!
Unfortunately, no one guessed the exact number, so I'll be keeping the bous prize of $33.03, sorry.

I will modify the post, appreciate the heads up!
If I happened to make any other mistakes, I will make it right by the "victim" lol.
With the amount of finds, it takes me almost as long to clean and photogragh them as it did to find them.
Count in the thread post and figuring out the winners, and it's probably longer.

I just wanted to thank you again for the fun contest and for the prize. I just never expected to guess anywhere close to the total count for the hunt. Man, you sure are a machine when is comes to finding coins. I sure wouldn't want to hunt behind you, lol...Maybe my luck is changing for the better. It's been so hot and dry here this summer I didn't hunt very much at all. It's been as bad as digging frozen ground. The temperatures have started to cool off a little here and if we ever get any more rain I'll get back into finding the goodies...I hope anyway, lol. You have a good one
