They recovered every one from the shaft they are safe and they were hungry they asked for pizza. It is unfortunate and I believe an engineer for the mine was the fatality. One must remember when you go underground there are many dangers especially in a 1000 foot vertical shaft or a 10 foot one..Thank god for mine rescue they have saved so many folks and are fearless.

Yes mine rescuers all around the world risk their lives to save others. There is many a time mine rescue workers perish attempting to save trapped miners.

As a former miner and driller I take my hat off to them.

While traveling through Colorado a few years ago helping my mom move some one suggested we take that mine tour and we skipped on it. She worked at the South African Geological Survey before emigrating here and I’m a prospector. We took a mill tour nearby and the equipment wasn’t complete it was disappointing. I have always wondered how regulation of tourist mines is conducted.

Colorado has a division of there mining inspection division that looks at the tourist mines it is called MSTP. If anything on one of those operating tourist mines is reported by the public it is immediately closed. It will be closed tell inspectors are on site to get the issue resolved.
