I found this in my soccer field of dreams. All of the coins ranged from the early 18th to the early 19th centuries. Bottom Photo is for size comparison with buttons and a half cent.

I see 5 spots around it also. Looks newer to me.
What's the other side look like, and what's it made off??

It appears to be brass. The spots are actually holes. They are countersunk, but appear to be coarsely drilled, not machined. I will take more photos tomorrow.

I guess it may be a tractor part but it looks older to me.

Looks like a valve spring retainer, early style, could be from a hit&miss engine, tractor or very early auto. Tony

I was thinking along those lines - an early version of a spring retainer clip.
