I am almost certain that the coin is this. ConnecticutCoppers_Merged.jpg

These 2 relics are from my family farm.
 

You have a civilian tombac button, and you are right, it's a CT copper... but most likely not the exact one as there's a lot of different varieties.

the coin looks like some sort of evasion token with perhaps george III on the obverse and Britannia on the reverse, used as a half penny I suppose.

Yes suspender buckle is my guess
