vpnavy, I am chicken as far as the dirt cup. I get that look of what are you ding when I sweep the return and scan the floor for drops. Forget asking to get a look inside. I have little more than Zincolns from Walmart and the other stores have been empty. I know that there is at least one or two other members from Tnet in the area and one of them is also a Coinstar hunter. Guess I have competition but better it be found than left. Of course I used to check the coin return on pay phones, you all do remember those?:laughing7:

The town I live in has only one coinstar in the Walmart lobby. I check everytime I leave. I push my cart up to that corner and pretend to check my receipt. I have found a total of about $2.00 but 45¢ in silver.

My little town still has working pay phones under the eaves of an empty storefront. The homeless use that corner to stay out of the rain.

FWIW - I always hit the Coinstar® at my Weis Market Grocery Store. Guess what? They just "replaced" the Coinstar® with their own Weis system! I guess their really is money to be made with these systems...

Good looks VPNavy! My girlfriend is rocking it right now, with 7 silver quarters, an old italian coin, and a merc!

Interesting, I take it the Roosevelt dimes had designers initials JS removed during the Red scare of 1950s...
I have heard it was rumored to be a secret Joseph Stalin reference, but was unaware of their removal.
neat stuff and keep eyeing those reject slots. (Don't forget the 'take a penny' bins at checkout either,
saw a Canada dime with a mackerel in one, intrigued by the fish I snatched it up, now know 1967 dual dated Canada coins(excepting 5c)
can be 800 ar or more commonly 500, but no base metals as far as I know. Good luck😉

Sure looks like "clad" - cleaning up all coins right now so I can ID the two (non-penny) coins as well as all the pennies. Will update the finds shortly.

This is pretty cool! Checked my first machine the other day as my wife and I where leaving Walmart. I got the old, "now what are you up to?!!" Gotta go "shopping" today as a matter of fact and will hit that machine going in and coming out. I'm determined to finally post SOMETHING on TNET whether I dig it or find it in a Coinstar. Happy hunting!
