Another trip to our wooded area that used to be a park in the 1800s. You need hip waders to get to it through the muck. Anything you find back there is at lease 1903 or older.

Anyway. Not a good day for finds but I did have this coin pop up.

It read as a penny/dime on my XLT. It was about 5" deep in a wooded area. It is just a smidge larger than a US quarter. I can't make out any marks on it at all. It is also thinner than a quarter.

I wasn't sure if anyone would know by the size of it.

Thanks,
Tom

Looks like a toasted Large Cent.

A precise diameter would help.

Maybe a Queen Victoria Half Penny. The one I dug is thin and and about the size you described. :dontknow:

KGs are usually thinner than LCs. King George half penny, farthing etc.

Sometime natural light at an angle will reveal enough detail to ID it... sometime not. Exact diameter and weight MIGHT lead to an ID.

Best of luck to you!
