Back to my pals old property and found had a signal close to this pot.
I had previously picked up lots of surface bottle finds so moved this out of the way to use the pinpointer - but the signal had gone ???

Looked inside and saw what turned out to be coins!!!!

Will try to clean these up a bit, the soil was packed quite hard inside.

Picture below show the pot (outside and inside) and the coins as found!

wow, wow, wow!!.......what a find!.....congratulations!!

Congrats on getting another Banner Captain! Shucks, I have only posted one find in an somewhat unrelated Thread of an Engagement Ring I found for a lady and her fiancee but even if I was to post finds every day for the next 5 years, I probably couldn't even get an Oscar Meyer Weiner Pin.:dontknow::sad11: Frank

Your not alone buddy.... Let me get this ATV fixed of mine and lets get to exploring out back for that ferry landing. There's still a chance for us. Might wanna buy stock in tick spray also!!!!!

Congrats on making BANNER, five seems to be the name of the game! :hello2:
So does BVI. Stand for Banner Virgin Isles, yet? :notworthy:

Huntsman if I find that OMW pin, it's yours.

So now we have to come up with more than 5 very old very large silver coins, I lost count on the gold coins. :icon_scratch:...basically we need to find something older than dirt to get banner.......and I don't count!:tongue3: :laughing7:

show us the bottom and sides of the ceramic vessel ...it looks interesting too.

the first post shows the bottom, with the tap next to it.

its also 'ridged' inside

does this help?

What's perlite? Have not got back to the site yet!

Perlite looks like tiny white soft foam balls that is added to potting soil to keep it airy so it doesn't pack down and drains better. Forgot when that type first came out 20-30 years ago?

yes, I know the stuff.

this soil has bits of stone / rock in it that looks like that - no good for potting!!

Awesome finds again BVI , buddy you are a Treasure magnet , Big congrats ..cheers Mick

Wow! Looks like English coins, kinda like short cross, (are these coins hammered?)
Keep us informed! thanks!
Super great find! A cache!

Dang man! That's awesome! Get out there & get the rest of them! Congrats on the banner!!!

yes yes i see them now...the only reason i ask is that i found a vessel that looks a whole like yours inside and out but I associated it with 19th century Nevada mining and now I wonder. your vessel has no markings right?

An earlier post suggested it was on old Dutch Gin Bottle
- Google images seemed to match that?

Your finds are amazing. I have been following your other recent underwater thread as well. congratulations on another banner.

Your find is simply amazing. I think most of us would have been ecstatic to find the gin bottle!
