Back to my pals old property and found had a signal close to this pot.
I had previously picked up lots of surface bottle finds so moved this out of the way to use the pinpointer - but the signal had gone ???

Looked inside and saw what turned out to be coins!!!!

Will try to clean these up a bit, the soil was packed quite hard inside.

Picture below show the pot (outside and inside) and the coins as found!

There are more I bet. I like that they came out of a gin bottle. I'd call it a Cache!! Nice finds.

Ha!

I always thought my first cache find would entail breaking into a stone wall and being showered with thousands of silver and gold coins as they came tumbling out --:coins:

guess this will do for now though!

I thought the very same thing, AFTER I had got home :BangHead:

either it was full and there are more very close or just a few were put in this broken pot? - for what reason I don't know, and how / why was it just left on the surface?

it maybe a while before I can get back there :sadsmiley:

If you need me to help out I might be able to hop a flight tomorrow and check the site for you. I promise I'll keep it a secret :laughing7:

I'm starting to think you're a silver psychic! Have you ever found anything a bit more yellow? ( that you can say)

Congrats and BANNER vote going in!

How far from the water (ocean) was the broken pot found? I ask because it may have been pushed ashore by storm waves and winds or a Hurricane. If this is possibly the case, the it is time to grid and metal detect a track back to the ocean and then you may have to get wet again, ha!

without giving too much away in case it identifies the location, all I can say is, not possible!
about a mile inland, and on an elevated bit of land, well above sea level!

Then, how about it possibly eroded out from uphill and tumbled down to that location? If that is possible, then it is time to go higher mate in hopes of more treasure. I mean, no one puts coins in an old pot and leaves it just laying on the surface of the ground, right!!??

Well hell, any Volcanic eruptions possible??:dontknow::laughing7: Of course it could have been tossed out by some irate wife that was giving her lazy, cheating husband the boot and throwing his' stuff all over the yard. Just a thought!:laughing7:

With a plant in it in a flower garden, or anywhere with top edge near the surface it would be easy to recover for who ever squirreled it. You know, like the Mrs.,s card playing money...

That's an awesome find and makes for a great story! The kind we all dream of. Congrats!

Man there have been some great finds so far this year.

I bet there's more in that field, where they spilled out of that clay pot.

Me thinks, it could have been tossed in the trash dump long ago along with storm debrie?
Or it was possibly buried long ago and rain has slowly uncovered it along with the bottles?

Hope you can get back there to investigate further...and find MORE!!! GL HH!
