These are the after photos which were originally posted in the Cleaning and Preservation section under the title Metal De-Corroder......the front reads United States of America around the edge......it was badly encrusted with black and green crust......it first got a soap and water brushing....then a 30 day olive oil soak and brushing.....finally a 24 hour bath that removed ALL of the encrustation....any ideas what it is? ........the before photos are here also.....the final bath was a 24 hour soak in a metal de-corroder.

looks like a Button Replica of a US Gold Dollar .

would have been a 3 piece button.
it appears the back plate that had the loop is missing.


of course can't rule out tie clip without finding an Exact match
