Hello everyone. Well got out this afternoon for about 3 hours. Hit the spot I hunted last week where I found those Sharps bullets. We knew there were more and wow we were not disappointed. Drops everywhere. Then came the find of the day. Got a strong brass reading on the F75. Dug down and found a civil war spur. Caught the recovery on video. Hope you guys enjoy. Thanks for checking them out.

I think you are right Vol..I forgot to even take a picture of the Horseshoe's we dug. I think today we dug 3..Confederate1 dug a real small horseshoe. Never seen one this small it was like 4-6 inches wide. Really small...

Probably for a donkey then. They were used as pack animals quite often

Zax,
Glad the weather finally cooled off a little for some hunting to happen. We are still really dry in HottyToddyville. Be sure to check along the fence real good, I found several bullets that others missed because they kept finding pieces of fence and gave up. The spur is good looking, I am still trying to figure out how to display the one I found.

Happy Huntin
Wettpaint

Wettpaint I went along that fence. Found a few bullets. I was suprised at how close I could get with the F75. It was weird. I could get closer than what I thought. Man i see where you made the banner for the CS buckle in your yard. Dude have you been in those woods around and behind your house? Man you outta have a ton of stuff out there.

Its a long shot, but I might be able to pull some strings. The guy that owns the property really likes his grass all manicured. It is a big property. In fact we talked to one of his workers yesterday. He was out clearing a spot under a big Oak tree that had a bunch of roots and weeds. The fellow was clearing them out to make it easy to cut with his mower.

I know what those people are like, they don't like people even
walking on their lawns let alone digging holes in it!
>:( >:( >:( GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU"RE LEAVING FOOTPRINTS!!! :laughing9:

Z, I found one of those near the top of a high hill where a large U.S. Artillery battery was located. I think they are shoes for small mules. It's just above the iron heel plate in the pic. HH, Quindy.

Whoops!!I missed this!!!!Good job Quindy!!You are right that is a small mule shoe in your frame

Great finds !! I heard you were on a good spot up north... Keep pounding the ground I see a more good finds coming your way.

Good job bud, nothing wrong with that day, a bunch of lead and a whole spur :icon_thumleft:

Not North Chainsaw, Its West... I've found more Civil War era and WW1 era finds here in Natchez than you could ever believe. I want to find that Virgin campsite I always see those boys up Virginia way digging. I am gonna be up late tonight doing some research. Thanks for the kind words.

Cody, I'm sure you have found several hundred donkey shoes lost from prospector's pack animals out there in the West. HH all, Quindy.

That's one of the best spurs that I have seen lately. congrats!!

You should have a local knife or hobby dealer who has the nice wooden boxes with glass tops and twin locks. They are generally made in Cherry, Walnut, Oak, Cedar, Barnwood, etc. They come in many different sizes with colored foam to nest your relics. I prefer the 12x18x2 inch but Dman uses the 8x10x2 because of his large display case that he puts them in. If you can't find one locally or need an odd size, I'd contact D & M Woodcrafts in NY. They have a website and can ship them safely so the glass does not get broken. HH, Quindy.

I had a cabinet shop make some of mine and others I bought a flea market(A guy was custom making them...really nice and cheap,OAK!!)

I have a big one that has enough space to put some more relics in. Might be some pics floating around Tnet of them. I will probably just put new foam in them and some red velvet. I like the Red background for some reason for the relics. Thanks guys for the suggestions on the boxes.
