Finally the relic and coin gods showed mercy on me! Last week I was complaing to John That a Seated Dime had so far eluded my coil!. We hunted this morning in a field near a old pioneer well. A story was told to us by the land owner that the Civil War soldiers ofter got water from this well. On one occasion a goose was stolen and as the legend has it Wild Bill Hickok was in this group. Upon learning what happen it is said he made the soldier return and pay the farmer twice what the goose was worth. Back to hunting, we recovered some shot bullets and I dug a button that might be Confederate? John dug a well worn shield nickel. I also dug a spur and a lock plate, possibly off a chest? We returned to the spot we hunted 2 weeks ago and I dug the 1856 Half Dime about 4 to 5 inches deep. We finished out the day here. Enjoy the pics. Tsgman

That's a nice coin. Man where are you guys finding all these coins in that nice condition? This weekend, this half dime, the barber dime, that nice green indian, the walking liberty, and that super super nice double struck bust dime (man what detail on that bust dime!) Gotta love those coins!

That seated half dime is a beauty! Is that a sword hanger in the pic? HH, Mike
Mike, I do not think so, it's not something I have ever seen displayed as a sword hanger. Two weeks ago my buddy John dug a complete sword hanger. Here is a pic.
