I found an aluminum mine. I live near an old town village square that gets all decorated up for Christmas. At the center is the bandstand / gazebo. I guess over the years, the city employees or contract decorators replaced a lot of broken bulbs, the old incandescent type. But for some reason, they must have thrown the aluminum threaded socket on the ground. I must have been the first to detect this site or someone else discriminated out all of these. What a mess. I spent a good 2 hours popping a few dozen of those things out of the ground. I got really good at recognizing the signal but i figured I might as well clean 'em out. And that was just one pass aroung the bandstand. I haven't even hit the rest of the park. Didn't find anything old either. I could tell that over the years, some fill material had been brought in. There's got to be a bunch of good stuff probably 3 inches out of my reach.
I ain't givin' up yet.
