Hi all! I knew this wasn't a mere washer when I dug it up! Couldn't see the characters but the square hole had me thinking =) Anyway I do not have it cleaned up very well as I am unsure how to go about it? This is what it looks like after playing with a toothpick on it, but I am afraid to use a toothbrush/soap water in case it hides the outlines of the characters. Any ideas?

And then of course the main questions. Any clue when it was made? And is it a coin or just a charm someone had?

Thanks for looking! (ah yes this is the size of a quarter btw)

Actually these are all replicas but I use it as a quick guide to identification. They have the background dots. The letters are not bad but are still a tad smaller than authentics.

Big Cy and Kuger,

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I was wondering if either of you two Gurus
could ID one that I've had for several years with no luck trying to ID it on my own.

My thanks in advance....

It is about 19.5 mm in diameter.

Again, Thanks!

Best Wishes,

Scott

Um...I made thousands of copies and wandered throughout the land casting them about as I went. :tongue3:

I have nothing better to do with my time....:laughing7:

Here is a side by side example of an authentic cast cash coin on the left and Imafishingnuts banner find on the right. You can clearly see the characters on Imafishingnuts modern machine struck token is smaller in comparison to the center hole. Click to enlarge.
