I felt I should respond to this. you asked are they worth any value? if those be long to your grandfather and he lived in the same area for most of his life those are the facts not only had tremendous value to him but kept together will have tremendous value to historians and vocational and professional archaeologist in your area. I would beg you out of respect for your grandfather to do your best to see that those artifacts stayed together as a piece of your local history. are they worth any money? sure... they were worth a lot more than any money to your grandfather.

We have lived in the same city for 5 generations but I talked to my dad and he said my grandpa bought them off a guy who sold things like that around my town

that changes things at least in my mind. you could definitely find buyers for those items. I suggest you do a little research first to get an idea of the asking prices.

I agree with alwaylearning don't sell man! The emotional value of these item exceed way more than that of money...these are items that were made by hand. They kept native americans alive in every aspect! Every item has a story just think about that. Nice finds btw!

Yeah im thinkin about framing the really nice and intricate ones and hopefully find some one to buy the othere ones theres just so many of them im gonna take some pitures of the other things in the boxes later tonight

From what I can see you have a few decent looking pieces and some that are damaged or broken. You probably wouldn't get more than a couple hundred dollars total for all of it so you probably are better off keeping them and traying them up. If you tray up the best ones you would hard pressed to get anything out of the rest since damaged and broken pieces are hard to sell.

that's a good point.. I bet if they were gifted to a young child that child might be handing those down to his grandchildren someday. just a thought

heres some updated pics
these are all of the bronken ones i think

wow man.. you have a lot more goodies in there than I thought. I don't even know where to begin. I really suggest that you take those to a local expert who would be happy to take the time do you get you better acquainted with what you have there. maybe this would be a good time for you to find out some really cool stuff about the history where you come from. by the way... those random balls are clay marbles

cool thanks a lot man, yeah i been trying to find a place with an Indian artifact expert but have had no luck maybe over the weekend ill go up to the local museum and see if they know anyone

no problem man.. someone from the museum can definitely help you. even your local college.

Those are some pretty cool artifacts. Where are you from?

I hope you don't mind but I copied your photo's to point out some of the pieces you have. The one point you have in the one photo is nice. Looks like a San Patrice. The frame to the right if these are all authentic they are worth alot. The two points circled in yellow the one directly at 9 o'clock is a Clovis. If it is authentic it is worth anywhere from several hundred to maybe $1200. I cannot see the one above it to really tell if it is clovis. It does have paleo form to it. The one point circled at 5 o'clock looks to be a possible plainview or meserve. The clay effigy figures could be broken pot handles. If they are actual effigies then they could be worth several hundred. The discoidals range in price those are circled at 12 o'clock........There is probably a thousand plus sitting in that one frame. That is if they are authentic. I'm guessing you live in either Oklahoma, Texas or Missouri...................hope this helps you.......................GTP

GTP, I think all of these pieces are from North Carolina. I also think what you are saying is a Clovis is actually a Stemmed Point with one corner broken off. At least that's what I'm seeing. The Faces and the Discs looked like repros or tourist items to me and the Pendant doesn't look right either. I would be afraid of everything in that tray actually since I believe he said on another forum that these were bought and not found. Most of the other stuff looks good and the one you are calling a San Patrice is probably a Hardaway.

Im in the process of finding an expert if they are replicas it wouldn't bother me.
Yes I was told my grandfather bought them from a guy who collected stuff like that

I wasn't impressed at the first but with your added pics you got some cool stuff. I am not into the buying and selling of artifacts but if you are, best of luck and hope you make a bundle. Archaeologically speaking, they are worthless, since we have no clue where they were collected or the provenance. Pretty cool collection overall.

Thanks, honestly if I fin out there all real and valuable I woupd probably frame them all and put them on my wall
