Can anyone help with identifying etchings found in a cave in Middle Tennessee?

Don't pay too much for your copy of Brewer's book. There are some folks trying to get "collector" prices for it and it is rediculus. You can find it on Amazon and probably eBay, but don't pay over $20 to $25 for a softcover copy.

Shortstack,

Thanks! I am currently watching several that are under $15 with $3 to $4 shipping. Just waiting for the next infusion of Retirement pay to snag one as I don't want to risk an overdraft due to several more bills that I have to pay.

I can understand that, brother. I retired for active duty in 1988 and the end of month sure "perks" things up. LOL

AMEN Shortstack... I suddenly get a whole new attitude on the 1st. also. FYI... folks, I got my grandson here now and were going back soon to again attempt to photo & video this etched mound in a black light mode, and possibly torch / candle light mode along with "better" lighting also. Gotta rest up a little from a 1400+ mile trip. Got both topo maps hooked up together and it now covers a wide area around cave. Later.... Brad

I went back yesterday to video from the entrance to what I call "the crack". It took us over an hour to reach this spot. When video is edited down I'll post a link for review. The etched mound we are speaking of here was filmed up close and all around. We discovered that there is a hollowed out area or a tunnel behind the mound which goes back 4-5+ feet. It's hard to NOT believe this mound was put there to block the view of this area....??? But I admit I haven't a clue. I'll take MD back next and scan this entire area first but it will NOT BE EASY TO DO. After that we'll slowly excavate in front of it. After that the mound will probably be history so I can examine the area under it and behind it. Here's a very interesting item also. WAY back we found another one with etchings on it also... though faded. It to has been "squared up" while the mud mounds around it are all rounded over. And this other mound has a tunnel behind it which goes back easily 8-10 ft. I'll take it one at a time... area is just so hard to work in... Later, Brad
