Calling All Con Artists ... How Would You Play It?

. I am a bit jealous, I'd love to be on that island with Gary Drayton metal detecting and finding coins, jewelry and artifacts that are hundreds of years old.

i record it and then zip through. of course people from many countries stopped there ans lived there. not a bad place to hang out and get refreshed during the summer. winter is the problem though. super cold but lotsa wood for fires. who knows what else went on there. looks like the old digging were used for something-but what. this is the dumbest post i have ever made but im getting brain freeze over all these years and yet nothing except old human dwellings being found and seen by us. to me its kinda sad.

Well to me so far the "treasure" has been in the journey and the tid bits along the way! The old adage of "hid in plain sight" comes to mind in this case. I'll keep watching until they pull the plug ! And why haven't they used a hand held XRF device to locate this treasure ? XRF was / is good enough for Gorden Cooper and the US government when they flew over Cubia looking for Russian missiles . This would tell them where to dig BUT that would ruin the drama of the TV show !

With the large drop in ratings last year coupled with this season, it looks like the laginas may not be on the air next year as 99% of folks have figured out the ongoing scam.

For years and years, some people thought Mel Fisher was running a scam or con. He'd have people invest in has salvage operation for a share of the finds. My parents had an opportunity to invest but decided to use their money to buy another boat. So, for years and years and more years, there were those who thought he was a fraudster, running a scam, collecting money from a lot of "unsuspecting victims".

And then, he found the Atocha...

And all those investors who took a chance, were very, very, VERY happy. It's only considered a "scam" by some until the treasure is found.
What are you talking about? That's a mischaracterization. The loss of the Atocha in that area was a known fact. He wasn't the only one looking for it. It's not his effort that made it real. No one is looking for a known anything at OI. No one can name what they are looking for. That's never changed. It is entirely speculative and based in bat-shit interpretations of unsubstantiated stories that are known to not hold up to historical scrutiny. What is known works against the idea that there is something there to search for. A million speculations about it will never create the base reality that there must be, at the very least, something there. Public interest in fantasy does not count as proof.
