Detector(s) used
Tesoro Tejan; Garrett AT Pro
Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
I went back to the place that I found the 1851 Saber Belt Plate and Vermont Button, and had one heck of a day! The construction crew demolished an old 1920s house, and I was amazed at what came out from underneath it!!! I dug well into the night, nugget after nugget! My finds include:

9 Bullets (3 minie balls, 1 gardiner, 1 enfield, 3 colt, 1 round ball)
1 sword scabbard tip
1 1876 silver dime
1 1871 indian head penny
1 1867 shield nickel
1 1810 Large Cent
3 Eagle buttons (2 cuff; 1 Gold plated Coat)
********************** Here come the goodies
1 Solid Cast C.S.A. Button
1 1793 Chain Cent
1 Unknown Token (last two pictures; I think its a Prussian medal c. 1815, it says "NEUE EHRE NEUES GLÜCK" on the front and Voll Muth on the back. I am unsure of the value, any help is appreciated!!!)

One heck of a find! Big congrats!! Your other finds are to drool over also! You said, your Tejon. Yes of course, a Tesoro! My find of a lifetime the recent Banner Find: Ladies Diamond Rolex Watch with a Bandido Umax II. I love my Tesoro! Once again congrats on your banner find! Now your friend found an 1877 IH! Wow! Nothing short of incredible!

You had a hunt the dreams are made of, congrats to the amazing find and to the banner.

Thanks everyone! Now just have to wait for them to move some more dirt!

Hi , I am not even gonna ask whats a cheesehead doing in Va ? :tongue3: I am wondering about the 1796 no pole half cent and now a 1877 Indian cent. Not trying to be smart or sarcastic , but ..... Was this site a demolished rare coin store ?

Congratulations and thank you for sharing!

I will not sound like a broken record because before this, I've never even HEARD of a chain cent. I would have tossed that puppy in the relic bag with iron junk. Yep, I woulda . . . $10,000??? Good GRIEF! I was going to say that CSA button, some Eagles, a scabbard drag, and what appears to be a CS finial for a cap box or cartridge bag . . . YES! But I guess they're not a big deal now. I think I said after your plate that I was sure there was more great stuff there. As a Virginia boy and a Tejon freak, I'll just say, "Go ahead stuff!"

PW ..
Knowledge is POWER!!

The only reason I know what a Chain Cent is Cause Before I started the Computer, I recall Reading (In NS Trader) I think?
The Story of a Virginia Relic Hunter & He stated something like "My Favorite non-Relic find Was a Chain Cent" then went into where & the Emotion of finding it.
So Don't feel bad, Only Dedicated Coin People Know what a Flowing Hair Cent 'Chain Reverse' is.

Man he Dug 1 of only 36,103 minted of the 3 types that year.

The plate would have made my Year ,Or 2. 'The Stuff Dreams are made of ....A hunt like that.

He dug 1 of only 36,103

Just so you know CMDiamonddawg.
His Dad found the 1796 no pole half cent years ago, at a different location I assume?

I was def, a site where rare & scarce Coins ended up.
&
That 1877 Full Liberty & all ,WOW!

Wowzers

Amazing Banner find ! A truly rare American artifact !!!!!!! This is what detecting dreams are made of .

The 1796 was found a few miles away, years ago. The 1877 was found last night at the same spot I found the chain cent at. It was a colonial house site that was used asa civil war hospital!

One of the most incredible digs I've seen posted in my short time here. Congrats on it all!

Bad news guys... The owners of the property just put up posted signs... I heard right after I dug a 1773 Virginia Half Penny... I am heart broken

What a run though, right?!?

It was a great run, but there is SOOO much I have yet to put a detector over!

Congrats on a great coin and the banner! :icon_thumleft:

The Jetton is Prussian, Voll Muth (With Courage), Neue Ehre Neues Glück (New Honour New Luck) Minted around 1814 for the Prussian victory over the French.

So I guess it was a Token or a Medal?

Thats pretty interesting. Thanks for the info!
