"cut " in button seems cut and not broken

OMG another one. This is one of the biggest unsolved mysteries of TN.

Can you post a better pic please front and bacK?

Where did you find it and can you take a guess on the date range? Is it before or after electric? Any clue will help.

Here we go again. I posted mine on a few other sites. Still nobody seems to know what they are.Cool finds though!

here are some better pics, hopefully. I dont have my good camera with me today. This "E" was found on a site that has produced old old Indian pottery, 1682 Reale, 1782 Reale, IH cent, large cent, 1838 half dime, lots of civil war era stuff like buckles and harmonicas. My guess on the date based on context
is 1750-1820


the other object was found in the same area. Drawer pull?

My guess based on an E with no serifs is late-1800's at the very oldest
