I am very excited! This is my oldest coin to date, and only my second half ever! Was able to get on an old farm today, was working around an old fruit tree and got a kind of jumpy signal on the etrac, couldn't believe it when this popped out!

Thats one nice coin!

That's an incredible coin. I'm voting banner. Wow. Congrats!

Great find dude. I may post the Bust Half find as a quickie video. I usually like to have more footage, but this one is pretty special! Way to get over a target buddy!

Awesome find! It matches my 1831 Capped Bust 25c I found last year.

Sucks how recent (actually not so recent) events make people wonder if their finds will be Second guessed. I didn't think you were implying anything

Great find by the way!

Maybe I was being overly sensistive. Just wondered why he wanted to see it dirty and then posted a pic of a silver coin in much worse condition.

That is sweet!!! Every silver coin I have found has came out of the ground in that shape. They start to tarnish once the air gets to them. Great find and video!!!d2

I just realized you are in Cincy - congrats on a fantastic coin!!!! Hard to find early silver halves - especially bust - especially in that condition. Wow.

Yes I am in the Cinci (Mason) area. We have a small group of us, from all over Cincinnati that get out almost every weekend. Where are you?

Not implying anything about this coin, just in response to your statement, I've never dug a silver coin that clean and let's just say I've dug a few. But the air is in the soil too, even water silver tarnishes aftera few years. But soil can play a factor too. This is a nice coin.

Thanks! I have found them balckened before, but that is usually in wet areas. I think part of the reason this is in such good shape is 1. It was probably lost early in its life, and 2. It was at the top of a hill, as you can see in the video, and under a tree, so the water probably ran off and the soil remained dry.

hey bryan, my 1836 capped bust quarter came out looking just like yours, perfect and shiny, and it was found in high dry ground

Some sick people, like myself, love seeing silver fresh out of the ground still covered in dirt. It's called "detector porn". LOL! I don't think Scrappy was implying anything, except that he's a detector porn addict as well. I have dug large silver that came out in the same condition as your bust half, it does happen!

Congrats again on a magnificent coin!

What an amazing find- very beautiful coin- Congrats!!
