Santa Fe NM - I know you want to get to the bottom of this missing person case; Jesse is one of us and treasure hunters take care of their own, at least the 'old school' types. A big problem is that we don't know where Jesse was really interested in looking, which would be the logical place to look for him or some sign that he had been there. I have not been able to find out what treasure forums he was on or who he was talking with, which would really help as he probably discussed the area (or areas) he was considering. What do you think? Any idea what forum he was on, or anyone he might have talked to before going into the Superstitions?
I know you have suggested the Bluff Springs mtn area but did Jesse ever mention this place to anyone? That area kind of has been "ground zero" for many Dutch-hunters, but there are many other areas he might have been interested in too - Blacktop Mesa being another place that many folks consider "ground zero" for example. I just wonder, if he were heading for Bluff Springs mtn, why go in from Tortilla Ranch which is a very rough and dangerous trail, maybe even a little longer than going in from another way. It is pretty rough country between where his camp was and Bluff Springs too. Would he have left his camp and try to make it there in a day-hike? I don't know if I would try that, but then I am neither young nor tough as some guys.
My apologies for going off-topic here talking about Jesse again, just wish for some kind of clue that might help the searchers find him.
