Boy, I'm sure glad that worry's over.
UPDATE ON BUTTON (SEE BELOW)
You know how you get when silver coins just seem to dry up? You begin to doubt your detector, your skills, everything! It had been MONTHS since I saw a silver coin smiling up at me. So, I was seriously beginning to think that maybe my AT-Pro was just not tuned to deep silver. Well, that worry is over now.
I decided that I didn't want to go stumbling over cornstalks so I chose to fall back to the old mansion for a bit yesterday. I went back over some areas that I know I'd been over before. But, I was hoping that better knowledge of the land and detector would help. It did.
I found a few odds and ends but then I got one of those semi-iffy signals that time in the cornfields has taught me that I can't justify ignoring anymore. When I pulled the plug the signal got a little more solid. I knew this was a good sign. Another knife full and it was out of the hole, with a perfect impression of where it had lain in the hole for so long. I was able to stick the knife in to measure depth.
A full 8 inches!
So I turned to the plug and after a bit, I saw this:
YAY!!!
Ya know, I like to sort of play with my expectations when I know something good has come out.
I slowwwwwly start to peel away the dirt until I get to the prize. Like opening a Christmas gift reeeaaaaalll slow. LOL
At this point, I actually didn't know what this coin was, never had one this small.
I had to look this up to be sure it really was silver!
Ok, now my worry was over. This coin is tiny and silver. The AT-Pro sniffed it out at 8 inches!
Then, just a couple feet over, I get another signal. The prettiest 84-86 quarter hit you ever heard.
This usually means a clad quarter on most of my other hunts.
Not quite as deep, but still about 6-7 inches.
Nope, somehow, I just don't have that worry anymore.
Here's the over all for the day:
Is that a pistol ball in the middle? Has a heavy patina!
The door knob & mason jar lid, crotal, wire frame, all came from a new section of the area that I hadn't searched before.
Shows good promise.
The knob is a bit strange. I'm not sure what it's made of, marble, wood, It weighs almost a half pound
and it came out looking this way.
This is a button that shows some sort of design but I can't quite make it out.
The smaller coin at a full 8 inches down. I am impressed with my AT-Pro!
Thanks for stopping by!
HH!
The button resisted cleaning up but with a lil brute force, can at least see some details.
No backmark, just a design, thought I'd complete the share.
