Great! Thanks for the info. Like I said, I was going off of what I have seen first hand. I said it was a long time ago (10 years ago). I'm glad you let me know more recent information. And based on your new information, the test would not cost any silver.

That's awesome. My one friend didn't go to college after high school. He got a job with a pay phone company. They had to go all over the city collecting the coins out of the pay phones. He had no interest in silver or coins, but that would have been the perfect job for me. It's a shame pay phones don't exist anymore.
 

I wouldn't be so sure that coinstar rejects all silver. I think coin counters in general reject coins that are damaged or worn. I personally witnessed someone dump around $400 fv in silver (all silver) into a coinstar machine. There were rejects, but it was probably under $10 in face value that was rejected.

I've gotten AU silver dimes in reject trays before.
