This is our first major hit of the season. It's going to be brutal if this mornings temps are indicative of what's to come.

Fortunately we have cobalt blue skies today so it should be tolerable by noon.

I'll try to do a little digging in the sand today, but I'll have to wait for it/me to thaw out a bit. (left the darn windows open last night)

It's 46 degrees in NYC at 9 A.M.
The cold will stop my metal detecting when we get 3 consecutive nights of 20 degree temps. That will freeze the ground solid.
Right now,, it's still okay to get out there and dig
 

I dug until the ground freezes like ATW. It has been freezing in mid Jan through late Feb for the past 2 seasons here in Northern Ohio.
 

Too funny. I was out doing yardwork yesterday, no jacket of course, at about that temp. And the neighbor and I marveled about what a lovely fall day it was.
