Found these last week and I'm having trouble iding them. Any help will be appreciated.

Black stone? More probably Obsidian? with some white flecks. Some places have a glimmer which appears to be internal. Can't catch it with camera.
Harder than steel. Softer than quartz.

Having trouble finding the origin or ethnics of the pieces.

I was going to say snowflake obsidian but it doesn't quite look like that.

Definitely Obsidian, I think the white specks might be paint. :dontknow: If you hold them at an angle does the color change sort of? Like dirty white or tan? Like this-

Gold sheen obsidian. Probably from Mexico, where a lot of similar products out of the same stone come from. I suppose gold sheen could have "bits", There is also Silver sheen obsidian.

OOPS! I was seeing the post a couple of posts before, thinking it was the subject. NOT. The gold sheen obsidian was for that post. If it does not have a similar sheen, then back to plain old obsidian with possible impurities in it. Snowflake, bits, I have even seen small green (kryptonite?) bits in obsidian. Depending on how it cools and what kind of crud is in the lava, the possibilities are many.
