Very interesting bison skull and theories dirtscratcher.

Here is another bison skull a friend of mine found. It exhibits a large indentation just beneath the brain cavity that apparently healed over as no open cracks around the outer perimeter of the caved in area are evident. The shape and size of the wound reminds me of what you would see if the animal was hit with a sizable stone maul.

I wonder if that animal didn't stroll around with a bad attitude and a vendetta towards any two legged humanoids. Plus a bad headache.

Wife's great uncle was a meat hunter for one of the railroad projects in the 1890s we have one of his skulls and his long barreled
Winchester in 38-40. I've heard that Buffalo Bill Cody received the CMH for killing buffalo but have read it was actually a version
of the Congressional Medal Of Freedom with a dead buffalo on one side and a dead Native American on the other. I love my country
and my fellow citizens but not our approach to the claims of prior heritage.

I wanted to add what a great find these are with respect to their condition. Son used to work in a slaughter house
where they butchered an occasional beefalo. He brought home a couple of skulls and left them on stumps in the woods.
Man, the rodents had there way with them really quick! All the nasal cavity area just vanished.
