Yesterday my friends and I hiked to an early 1900s spot and this big piece of metal was by the broken down house i think it waged around a 100~150lbs. Any ideas?
You might get more money selling it to a blacksmith or metal worker than scrap I gave some similar stuff to a metal fabricated I know and he was thrilled!
Those are made from manganese, only good for certain uses. Hard to weld and very hard to machine. Most fabricators would not want it.
Probably get the best price throwing it in load of shredder scrap. We used to hide it in with #1 scrap and hope they didnt see it.
But with the price of shredder now days you can add it to that, get a fair price and nobody cares.
