Best PI detector and why

Excellent writeup TF. And although I have really appreciated the power of the GPX 5000 for some time now, I was rather surprised when it was beaten by the ATX on small nuggets, but seeing is believing in my book. I now use the Sea Hunter II, and it is a beast, although as you say not a nugget hunter like the Infinium is. I too use a Compass GS, and it outdoes anything I've seen on small gold inland. My CZ70 goes deeper than any other vlf on salt beaches, and almost (but not quite) matches the SH for depth there.

Some good machines there Larry,
What I like about the Infinium is that it was tuned for gold and I believe is the only diving PI that is good on nuggets. Besides really large
treasures, I am a beach hunter mostly with some nugget shooting thrown in. It is raining in Los Angeles right now, but I am about to go
to the beach with my Infinium as the surf is up too.
One thing about the ATX I like is the built in speaker so you can hear it and the rattlesnakes without earphones. Also folds up real nice.
And then there is the Compass Gold scanner, had it since 1989, lots of history there (and finds).
Happy hunting,
Rich

Sea Hunter II - keep it simple, get results! :hello2:

The SHMK2 is a great detector, the 8" coils slides through the water with ease, I would hip mount it, and throw away the nylon bolts and add SS bolts , and order the headphone adapter , and get the 10x14 coil , I absolutely love it, it's just fun to use and learn the tones it gives and it will surprise you, GL

Sounds like you've seen my machine!! good call!
