This is "buckle like" and I thought there is no better place to post this than an American forum!
Dave.

I'd be way more excited seeing it in the dirt before knowing what it was, but would still be happy with the find. Pretty good display material!

Yep, when I pulled it out of the ground I said out loud " What the *#$! is that?"
I posted it here a few years ago but with little replies. Then an American found one a year later and everyone went wild! People will have to start realizing that us Canadians will find some pretty cool American stuff out here. I know I would be excited to see an American post a cool Canadian find.
I still do not know anything about this presidential buckle thingy. Any insight would be appreciated.
Dave.

For sure, many of my better Canadian button finds were American before they were Canadian. ;D

I think that piece has been IDed here as a portion of a patriotic suspender clip before... I'll try to find the link.

I know I have seen these dug before--and I'm 99% certain of the ID...but I can't locate a post. I spent 30 minutes searching on the forum for it, with no luck. Could I see a photo of the back, Muddyhandz?
