Today after family time I headed out not knowing where to go. I've had my equinox out to modern school grounds learning sounds and digging different signals. Today I decided on going to an early 1900's church I've been over numerous times along with a hunting buddy.
My first signal after noise cancel was a wheat penny. I dug a handful of wheaties and a couple zincolns and then I got a broken but repeatable high tone along the front sidewalk. After cutting the plug and pinpointing in the hole one scoop and out pops big shiny....a Barber quarter! 1916. After more wheats and zinc pennies I dug what I thought would be another zinc judging by the numbers. To my surprise I saw one dime! 1909 Barber dime....
Now I'm all giddy because I've been here so many times and I'm wondering what else could be here...
A few holes later I got another zinc penny signal and about 8 inches down was something round...and green. At first I thought a button but after a wipe I saw a left facing bust. Yes! Got a copper! After a toothpick swipe it ends up being holed too. It has flowers on the back so I guess it's not a KG2 but a possible British half penny?
My last good find was about 9" deep and is some kind of presidential copper plate. Dated 1904. Roosevelt/Fairbanks.
This was one of my best hunts in a long time. The wife said I've been in a good mood...lol! Thanks for looking and good luck to everyone.
My pics are always sideways ect. Sorry. Lol.
