I have one little bank that I have been getting halves from that probably doesn't have more than 5 people in the bank. 3 tellers, manager and some other guy. They are all very friendly and have been getting me 2 boxes/week for the last few weeks. I wanted to get them something to drop off next time I'm in. I was going to get them some nice muffins but was wondering what you guys find they like/appreciate the most?

Bagels, muffins, donuts, candy etc? have you experimented with different things and what gets the best reaction out of them? I've read threads where people mention giving the tellers something and that it goes a long way to keep them happy and not annoyed with you. But, I haven't run across a topic dedicated to it (though I'm sure there is).

So what works best for you?

I have tried it all, but most tellers love lottery scratch off tickets.

My two cents,

That's interesting but it'll never work for me! I have resolved to NEVER EVER give anyone other than my wife a scratch off lottery ticket. I just know the second I do they will win the mother load :laughing9: :laughing9: I can see myself giving a teller $1000/week for life so she'll save me a couple 40%'s. Only problem is she wont be there anymore ha. Really, I will never give anyone a lotto ticket lol.

Chocolate has always worked well for me. But ask the tellers and see what there preferences are. Could be gummy bears, something salty or????

One month when it was particularly warm, I verified that they had a freezer in their break room and took a box of frozen fruit bars.

Zuchinni! I do chocolates usually, but my friend gave a bunch of zuchinni from his garden. He had way more than he knew what to do with. I took six big ones to my bank. Everyone loved them. CRH rockstar status for me!!! :icon_thumright:

The huge bag of M&Ms (from SAM's or Costco).

If you really want to lay it on, get one plain and one peanut. Otherwise, just plain.

They open the bag and leave it somewhere handy. If they pace themselves, the bag lasts a couple of days and thereby leaves a bit more of a lasting impression. M&Ms don't dry out like doughnuts or muffins. They don't leave smudges on documents like chocolates.

I've gone with small Dunkin Donuts gift cards for the tellers that order for me and that consistently help me while dumping at TD.

The branch that consistently produces some of my best boxes got a couple pizzas for lunch a few weeks ago. They order me 6-8 boxes a week and are some of the nicest tellers I've ever encountered.

The teller that goes out of his way to call me whenever they have a full bag off the coin machine is getting a gift card next weekend.

I try to not over-reward them, too often or too much would make them too suspicious...

I've always had the best reception with donuts.

I've tried chocolates, bagles, cookies and donuts.

The donutes always went over really well and everyone always flocked to them.

You might want to take in some of your collection if some of them are collectors, one teller in particular enjoys seeing my latest acquisitions, and is a bill collector, so if I ever get any interesting bills I take them in for him and he'll trade me any interesting coins he comes across at the bank. Works out pretty well.

First of all, not that it matters but Im sure it could depending on the situation. I was told that anything over 25 dollars is or must be reported and then possibly looked into. The last "treat" I took my best pick up bank, I was back in there on friday, and one of the girls was like, hey werent you going to bring us a treat or something??? I had brought them a bag of chocolates, and a 20 dollar gift card to beans and brews a week or two before... The b*!ch teller I gave it to, and told her to make sure everyone gets something totally kept it to herself... She never told the other girls about any of it.... So be careful. Some of these tellers have no idea or no interest in what silver is, but they will hoard a bag of chocolate all to themselves all day long...

As they drag the 20lb bags off of the counter to go count, I smile and politely say, "Thank you very much for doing all that hard work !" :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

I call to ask how many employees are in the bank, normally between 4 and 7. I then drive about 2 miles passed the branch and buy that amount of ice cream sundaes at Sonic for a bit over a buck each plus tax. They really like them and they sure remember me when I walk in. I only do this about once a month.

Justifying their employment should be enough. I used to do the donut/gifts thing, then I thought, hey, I'm in customer service too, I don't expect a tip, and I do get a paycheck.
Besides, there's no better way to educate tellers on silver, than to give rewards and gifts.
