I have the same thing and mine works great. I really want to try a Lesche though, the folks that have them swear by them.

I've got the Planters Buddy too (actually two of them) and it works very well and I'm very happy with it for the price. I had one that broke because I was using it like a prybar with a big piece of iron and the digging part of the tool only goes a little way into the handle. I bought another one and mailed the old one in with the receipt and they sent me a new one. But at the same time as much as I like it I'm sure that its not the best digging tool ever. I've never used them but the testimonials make me believe the Predator and the Lesche are better and sturdier diggers, but pricier.

I got my Lesche a while back. I've had several diggers and the Lesche has no competetion. The Lesch is quite simply, one h*** of tool. They are expensive but, worth the money as it will probably last many, many years.

ive gone through 4 or 5 detectors and still on my original lesche

I have one of those and find it kinda' hard to get started in hard ground due to the way the point is made. I use a copy of the Lesche most of the time, and a digger that one of the Tnet members made for me. Monty

Broke my 1st one of them a few days ago prying on a piece of iron. It's a fine tool for $13.00 it broke way down in the handle. I have dug a ton with it. Went back to Lowes and lucked out they had 1 left bought that one. For the money and durabilty it's hard to be.

there is a company called Fiskars that makes a similar tool. I've seen them at home depot... they're usually orange and black. Almost identical... but Fiskars tools carry an unconditional Lifetime guarantee that it won't break....

just a thought

steve
ps.. i love my lesche

I'm gonna save you some hurt here. BUY A LESCHE! I once tried a nice little knife (dont remember the name) that was japanese and cut through the ground like butter. The only problem is, you see, I hunt in ANY and ALL conditions! Dry ground, sludge mud, rain, drought, thunderstorms. light rain, snow, 120 degrees! The only thing that stops me is frozen ground. While using the Jap knife my hand slipped from the handle and I cut the PI$$ out of my hand on the blade. Buy a digging tool with a blade guard. It is there for a reason! Plus, you will not bend a lesche (probably not anyway).

I have gone trough 7 digging tools (including the one from Lowes Hardware) in the past couple of months and last week i decided to buy a Lesche and i love it, its well worth the money . :icon_thumright:

I've got 2 lesches and a predator little eagle and I won't have to worry about replacing them

I have the tool you mention and I did not like the notch in the end. I tool it to work and had the welder fill the notch with a piece i cut and goound to fit. Makes a nice point and adds an inch or so to the tool. I like better for digging now. I will try to post some pics.

Just buy the Lesche or Predator, then you won't be standing in the middle of the woods with nothing to dig with but a bent or broken digger. That digger works ok in park dirt but the black gumbo around here is to much for it. I bent two and broke one of those befor buying a Lesche 5 years ago. Still using it!

Has anybody else ever tried one of these? I tell ya if you wanna spend the $ on a lesche go right ahead but I won't. My wilcox will do anything I want it to. There ain't no point in wasting money when I don't have to. http://www.wilcoxallpro.com/wilcox3_tools.html I have a 100s. I wish they had a video or at least some pics of their products being used so everyone could see that these are some heavy duty tools because I imagine whoever is reading this it quite skeptical. I haven't had any experience with the longer ones shown on their website. I don't know if they would be as durable as my digger. I actually picked mine up at a flea market for a dollar. It looked like a high quality tool. It even had that rubber stuff on the sharp areas of the blade so nobody could get cut. I plan on buying a different style of these in the near future. I am thinking maybe the 300s.

I've got a wilcox, it came with my daughters bounty hunter. it's not very good for digging around here, it bends to easy.
a lesche is hard to bend, but mine is bent

Thats crazy. I could probably stand on mine with something under the center and it won't bend. I am gonna see if I take some pics of it in action.

I think I will try this one, we have tons of roots, I am always fighting them to get the coin.

I saw the same thing at Home depot for $9.00 so I bought it. :headbang: :hello2:

I got this tool from Lowes Hardware and it is far better than anything I have some across. It is very strong and the serrated edge will cut through all grass and roots! It is a must have!!

I thought this looks very interesting and I've been wanting an extra digger, so I went to Lowes yesterday and bought one. Thanks for the tip.
