I went to a spot in the woods where I've found a couple Large Cents and Indian Heads in the past. I decided to try a different section of the woods and was pleased to find an 1881 Indian. I got home to find it was in almost perfect condition. I cleaned it with warm peroxide and brushed it with a very soft bristled toothbrush. Also got another Indian, 1887 in similar condition, and a 1787 copper with almost no details. I was lucky enough to see the date in the right light though.

There are two foundations next to the road that leads into the woods. But what puzzles me is that I have not found a coin within one football field length of the foundations. This Indian Head was found more than 300 yards from the foundation and there was nothing else, that I know of, in the area at the time.

Cleaner than a nun in a tub... Now go get the 1877!
