Glenn Beck asserted on his weekday television program Monday that “we are moving in the wrong direction [as] a country,” particularly with regard to the Middle East, and that that “we will all be destroyed because of it.”
Speaking about the U.S. government’s recent decision to arm the rebels in Syria, Beck said lawmakers in both parties are “dragging” us into yet another war.
“We are worn out and we do not [want to be] in anybody’s business,” Beck said, pointing out that polls indicate the American people overwhelmingly disagree with intervening in the Syrian conflict.
Beck then urged viewers to share one clip from the night’s show, which he said will put the matter in perspective.
It seemingly shows a Syrian rebel cutting out and eating the heart and liver of his “enemy.”
“This president and the Republicans…the progressives, trust this demented terrorist with weapons,” Beck said in shock. “Yet the same people want to take guns out of your hands, because they don’t trust you, but I digress…”
“This is such a warning sign that we are on the wrong side that even Vladimir Putin sounds sane compared to the progressive Republicans and progressive Democrats in Washington,” Beck said, noting that Putin recently told the U.K. Prime Minister that “one should hardly back those who kill their enemy and eat their organs.”
“We have to put down our partisan politics, Beck said. “We have got to stop intervening in the wars in the Middle East. This sounds awful but if they’re going to kill each other, let ‘em kill each other. We will not survive this. Please — stop the back and forth with the Republicans and Democrats. Our children and our country are at stake.”
