Beautiful intact shoe buckle, last find of the year!

Got together with Garibaldi today and hit a farm we got permission to hunt. visions of tree coins danced in our heads as we headed into the field for our last hunt of the season. Got the detector up and running, found a good signal, went to dig, BAM!!! the ground was frozen solid . Had a short meeting to decide what to do, lets head into the woods the ground should be soft in there. Not 2 minutes in I got a solid signal for penny,dime at about 1/2" deep, I figured shot gun shell and out pops this beautiful buckle boy was I surprised. All the parts still move freely, a complete buckle has been on my wish list for a while. Spent the rest of the day digging shot gun shells, TON'S of them. Gary found a musket ball or 2. The metal detecting Gods were with me today, will head back to this spot in the spring it looks promising. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Christmas everybody. Dean
