KING OF SPAIN MONUMENT
Double face-profile of the King, one facing left and the other facing right. The face-profile on the right also has upper right-side of body showing, including the right-arm holding a book. Could be the GOOD BOOK, THE BIBLE.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: {Lord, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom} -Luke 23:42
At age 99, Leo Plass received his Oregon college diploma from Eastern Oregon University. He had stopped working on his teaching degree during the 1930's when he left college to earn an income in the logging industry. Seventy-nine years later, he completed the three credits necessary to graduate and resolve this important unfinished business in his life.
Many of us can relate to Leo. Our unfinished business may include apologies left unsaid, or even more important, unfinished spiritual decisions. One of the criminals who was crucified with Jesus needed desperately to make a decision.
Just a few breaths away from eternity, he realized who Jesus was and wanted to be with Him in heaven. He recognized his sin and Jesus' innocence, and said, ''Lord, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom'' {Luke 23:42}. Jesus replied, ''Assuredly. . . . today you will be with Me in Paradise'' {v.43}
God does not want anyone to perish {2 Peter 3:9}. His offer of salvation is open to anyone, regardless of age, health, or stage of life. His offer is open to you. Don't delay receiving Jesus as Savior {2 Cor. 6:2}. Resolve this important, unfinished business, and you'll look forward to eternity with Him. -Jennifer Benson Schuldt
Time after time, He has waited before, And now He is waiting again. To see if you're willing to open the door; Oh, how He wants to come in! -Carmichael
TO BE SAVED HERE MEANS TO BE SAFE HEREAFTER ---------- Today's Bible Reading - Luke 23:32-43
There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. THEN JESUS SAID, ''FATHER, FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY DO.'' And they divided His garments and cast lots. And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, ''He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.''
The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, and saying, ''If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.'' And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him saying, ''If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.'' But the other, answering, rebuked him saying, ''Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.''
Then he said to Jesus, ''Lord, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.'' And Jesus said to him, ''Assuredly, I say to you today you will be with Me in Paradise.''
'INSIGHT': THE BIBLE TEACHES SALVATION BY FAITH ALONE. THE THIEF ON THE CROSS COULD NOT BE BAPTIZED OR DO ANY GOOD WORKS TO EARN HIS SALVATION. INSTEAD, HE TRUSTED CHRIST AND WAS ASSURED OF PARADISE {Luke 23:43}. FAITH IS THE MEANS BY WHICH GOD DECLARES US RIGHTEOUS {Rom. 4:3}.
