Well after reading several of the finds from yesterday I couldn't wait to get out to try my luck today. Went to imperial beach and met two other guys detecting out there. Place was pretty worked out but did find a quarter fork and a silver colored nut minus bolt. When I first saw the nut I only saw one side and got excited maybe this will be my first ring but no the joke was on me. Still the short thrill was fun for me. The beach was being smoothed out by a large bucket dozer so decided to leave. The weather and eye candy at the beach was worth the visit though. After going home I wanted to get out some more to try my luck so went to a local park and had fairly good luck found 11 nickles in a one foot area about 1 inch under the ground. I guess you could call it a cache of some kind all of them were recent the most recent being 2006. I also found 5 dimes oldest being 1967 and a toy airplane. a child's beret with a flower design and a silver backing from a necklace. With all the deep readins I was getting for foil and iron I believe this may have been a dump site that was covered over and made into a park. Any way had a good day. I need to get a scoop though for the beach I keep getting readings and digging with small trowl that came with my detector and finding nothing only to have guy go behind me dig same area and pick up change. Oh well will try and buy one tomorrow. I will try and post pictures with this hope I can do it. Until next time and good hunting all, Ted
