This surface find was out of my league as a detectorist and beachcomber. When i saw this sitting in the surf on the sand and approached it I was shocked to realize I knew what it was right away. This comes from someone who has never been able to find a complete point of any sort in my 65 yrs of searching ( i was born to search!). It is so symmetrical and the hole is true and centered (it was packed with sand when I found it). I washed it in plain water and now I am going to see about getting it authenticated and appraised. This comes a couple weeks after finding this 1797 1/2cent in a soybean field.I am in the process of having it evaluated also. You know I have worked many hours to find these items and it looks like this may be my best year ever.HH

Yikes man! Those are two extraordinary finds.

That bannerstone is just amazing.

A word of advise, pick up a lotto ticket.

I would have to second Tom's advice. Get a lotto ticket, these are phenomenal finds!

Easy banner find. Outstanding. Already voted for it. Post in the American Indian Artifact section and it’ll hit the banner before the day is over. Great one.

the beach wear on a banner is something i’ve Never seen before. Very cool. Always love to see reed drilling.

Find of a lifetime! I know several head hunters that have been looking for years and years and never even found a broken one. I have only one that I found after a big flood 24 years ago. Another banner vote headed your way - Good luck!

Excellent finds!!! Love them both!!!

Congrats on both finds which are truly Banner worthy! Awesome Bannerstone but to be honest, I thought for a minute that the Native American Indians had invented the propeller for boat motors even before a boat motor had been invented.:icon_scratch::dontknow: Banner vote going in.

Love the finds, both are very nice, the bannerstone is a find of a lifetime in my opinion, especially one that size and in such good shape. Did you just find it? Was it found at high tide or low tide? Was it close to any dunes or cuts or was it out on a wide beach? Curious if the surf brought it in or was it washed out from beach dune or erosion.

the bannerstone was 4/11/18 and the 1/2cent was 3/11/18

Those are very special finds.Congrats :icon_thumright:

I hit the red button on this fantastic discovery. That artifact is a museum piece imo.

I'm super jealous of that great find.

So,what is that prop looking thing??????

Both, incredible finds!! The one, perhaps the find of a lifetime.

Nicely done, and all the best,

Lanny

Holy cow, that stone is insane. Never seen anything like it, what a piece of history. Congratulations on the banner, that's a top find of the decade for sure.

That is one of the finest specimens I have ever seen. Be sure to get it insured. It is worth a pretty penny if you sell. Take your time if you sell it because that one will command top dollar. It is a G-10 artifact.
