You can shut the barn door now! I will quit bragging about how nice the weather is here in OK for winter detecting! All the weather maps show an Arctic blast coming down from the Dakotas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and points north. I awoke to 19 degrees this morning, only about 40 degrees below normal. So, please close the barn door and let me thaw out! I haven't been able to get out metal detecting in a week. The high yesterday was 31 degrees with about a 20 mph wind from the north! C'mon now, give me a break! Please? Monty

Jim, they're talking about maybe 2-4" here tonite and tomorrow. Right now it's 14*. Guess we're finally gonna get the moisture needed. At least we'll be able to see just how much to overlap the coil swinging. ;D

Yeah! Yall shut that door! :P

I think maybe they put the curse on us Monty! Was 21 here last night.....

.....but......suppose to end up with 52 today..... ;)

BRRRRR... Nana ;)

It was -11 this morning. Yesterday the high was 4.
Wind chill this AM was -33. At least the sun is out.

If all you guys and gals from the south would point your detectors towards the North in unison it would push that cold front back to Canada ?where it belongs......theory being ...it is a known fact that what ever you point the detctor at it goes farther down...in this case ...up ? ? So come on Support your fellow Md's ....point those puppies North ?:P ::) :-*

MAN I'll say it's COLD, woke up and 31 in my back yard, had to sit and warm up my truck for 5 min. low for tonight should be 40
BRRRRRR. ;D

ok.....when you all are done pointing them my way,...point them to California before poor Beeper freezes to death !

It really isn't the temp as much as it is the wind. I went out when it was 41, put on my long johns and an extra sweatshirt and my coat. Thought I'd be ok, but didn't count on a wind gusting to 30 mph! The wind chill factor was about 19! Nearly froze my fanny off and I don't have that much to lose. I'm not whining and the tears in my eyes are from the cold! Whining and begging are not the same thing! :'( Glad I have knee pads, makes the begging easier! Monty

Monty, you've got that right. Even 0 degrees feels OK if the wind isn't blowing.

Where's the BOUNTY HUNTER & Digging Tool PETE ?

Yeah Pete,,, where's the equipment? You wouldn't catch me out in that stuff unless I was detecting... ;D

Monty,,, I keep getting on to everyone around here to keep the door shut, I have battened down the hatches...
I think maybe someone has stuck, or snuck a 3" diameter hose under the door... BRr,rr BRrrrrr..................

Got down to 5* last night, supposed to get down to 6* tonight... And, your right about the wind, that's the problem here, every time it gets cold in Indianan the wind blows like crazy...
I'm put'n on the long-johns, and keep'em on until spring... ;D

For those of you who are still getting out to hunt, Good luck & Happy hunting~
I got out last winter to hunt a few times, but I think this year I might just look at my finds from last summer, maybe that'll warm me up... ;D

WELCOME TO OUR WORLD!

-1* in Colorado right now. Got all the way up to +8 today. Had 3 to 4 inches of fluffy powder snow over night. Blue skies are here again, but that just makes it seem colder.
Stay in, stay warm, and keep on hoping that your dead cat does not arise to haunt you any more.
