Are there any Mexican CRHers here

At first I didn't believe you that a circulating coin from the mid 1990s would have silver in, it just seemed so bazar to me but I checked my world coin book and yup, 0.1667 Oz of silver. More than a 40%er. Sadly I am not from mexico, have never been there or plan to go there but the next time one of my friends goes there I will certainly ask them to bring me back some 10 pesos. That is just so odd how recently they were made. I bet you could find tons of them there.

Thank you so much for posting this, I had a big baggy of Mexican coins I bought well over a year ago in an auction and already picked out all of the silver coins or so I thought. I knew I had some coins that looked like that bi-metallic one you linked us to so I searched through them all again. Out of 9 Diez Pesos coins one of them was dated 1993 with a N$10 on the top! :headbang: Can't beat finding silver in a junk foreign coin bag that you didn't know about!!!

Thank you and HH!

From what I remember I found a handful of those 1957-1967 pesos (10% silver), a 1968 Olympics silver coin with soccer player on it, and a decent handful of random silver coins like 50 centavos, etc. and lower denomination silver from early 1900's. I think I ended up paying like $60 for the lot and found at least that much in silver.

HH,

I am not sure anyone has a complete list, But anyone know of a basic list of foreign coins that have silver? I guess the more common ones?

and of course all my 10 pesos here are 2008 or newer...

I'm about 3 hours north of Juarez, :walk: but there's not enough silver in the whole country to get me to cross the border :sign10:
