Anyone use "full tones"?

Raising the silencer level to 3 knocked a lot of those signals out for me.

Because you're leaving the door wide open for signals with this program you're going to hear absolutely everything.
Silencer acts as a filter, adjust it in the field to your liking. There will be a small amount of detection depth lost, but it should be minimal running this program. HH

What program are you referring to?

Thanks for the suggestion. But you know what i might try first is raising the iron volume. I have it currently set a 2 if I raise it a little I should hear the scratchy edges of the big iron, right now they are being covered up by the high tone. Think this would be a better option than raising the silencer? ( if I can handle the all the noise)

Sounds like a good idea. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck!!

Guy's if you find any "tweaks" to the program, that (help,or hurt it) post the results in this thread. That way we can ALL learn how to use these settings, since they seem to not be the normal program here in the US for coinshooting. I went out yesterday and didn't find anything of great value. Just mostly clad, but I did dig 3 Wheaties (1942,1944,and 1945) @ a average depth of 10 inches,in a six foot area. I'm using the 8kHz frequency with these settings.

I tried turning up the iron volume but that just drove me nuts so as much as I hate to use disc. I decided to use notch disc. I notched out 97-99 and that did the trick. I didn't loose any depth still hitting my 12" quarter. If your using a higher freq. or have ID norm turned on you will miss a silver dollar.

I started out last year using 5 tones. Within two months I tried and stayed with full tones. For me it's just easier to hear when there's potential silver under the coil among all the madness. Of course, one would miss quite a lot if it were only the high tones one were chasing...

I used full-tones today. It wasn't hard for me to get used to the sounds because I have used it in the past. The only problem was there was so much trash that my ears and head was rattled from all the sounds. I then switched to my 3 tones program for a break.

The only problem I have with the 3 tones is I can't make out the differences between some signals and I have to read the meter to be sure, although I realize that the meter isn't as accurate as what you hear. I will probably go in an do some adjusting.

I managed to find a 1943 war nickel. First for the year. It was a very nice lot, but the property manager asked us to leave even though we had permission.

Tried 49's settings quick in the yard. Found these two in the first 10 min or so. 46 wheat and some kind of navy button. Both were very quiet whispers amongst the iron and around 9 in deep. Very noisy though. I've been over this yard many times with 5 different detectors and squeaked out 2 more finds that's cool thanks for the info.
