Full tones has become very popular among detektorists in Russia. People say, that it is important to use it with discrimination on "0".

Anyone use "full tones"?

I watched a few videos and read up on it some I set up a prog with it but haven't tried it I'll let you know in 8 more inches of snow melt

That's all I use especially with the Deus. It's a tone machine in my opinion, the display I only use for reference. Try it you might like it.

Its pretty much the only way to go...
You dont miss anything. .
0 dis, though..

I tried it out in the backyard (that has be hunted to death) and found 2 zinclons,1 copper penny, and a gold wedding band at 14 inches!:laughing7: Wow I never thought the Deus had it in it! This program goes deep, and all I dug were the high tones. I did dig a piece of can slaw at 8 inches.:BangHead: This all was found in a 15 minute hunt in the yard. I think I'm gonna work with this program a lot more this year! 003 (3).JPG

Check my post everything is in full tone and on the river thames 2000 years of iron contamination

I've noticed you guy's in the UK seem to use the full tones more than the guy's here in the US? Or they just aren't talking about it!:laughing7:

Full tone a good GB and low reactivity should bring the goodies!

What is the thinking behind using 0 Disc with full tones? The tonal selection picked has nothing to do with the detection settings; just determines how the sounds of detection are passed on.

So if 0 disc is better it should be better in all the different tones or if not better in other tones not better in Full tones

I don't understand the implied correlation?

It lets you hear everything, like a coin between some trash, and after only using it once I can tell the difference between junk and good targets by the tone! It sounds weird to me right now,but I think it's gonna get a lot better! Sometimes a nail will "mask" out a coin under it,but if you hear the nail, then a faint good signal, you can bet there's a good target under it!

Here's the settings I'm using!
1. Ground Balance / Tracking ON
2. Sensitivity 95 decrease if noisy
3. Discrimination from zero up to 10
4. Full Tones (Expert / Full Tones)
5. Freq 8K - tweak in expert if you get pro pointer interference
6. Reactivity 2
7. Silencer -1 (Reactivity / Expert)
8. Iron vol 2
9. Audio resp 4
All other settings can be left the same.
I got these from this you tube video, and set them up in a 8K program (my favorite freq for coinshooting)

Thats it!!! If you have say disc, at 8, and go over a nail it will cause the sound to go blank for a min, missing the half dime thats right next to it..lol.
I want to hear everything thats in the ground.

So do I now that I've found out the difference! The Deus will really talk to you,if you let it!

It seems strange by that reasoning that XP would set up their Dues Fast Program with Disc set at 6.8. Supposedly those programs are well thought out and tested and Deus fast is supposed to provide excellent separation in iron infested ground.

I don't remember in Andy's book him showing any programs with 0 disc or him mentioning any null period impacting hearing other adjacent targets.

Andy's book is not know all be all..
He will be the first to tell you that.
Its a great book for you to get a hold on the Deus. .And what works for one site does not work for the next.
As far as the set programs are concerned that are great, but all can be tweaked to get the most out of the machine / site..
Me personally I like to hear everything, even with the CTX, i seen you had one of them also..
Im just sharing my opinion, and what works for me..

RKS 1949 which program are you using as your base program to modify.

I think I used the basic 1 program, but change all the settings,so it really doesn't matter what program I use since I change everything including the frequency (8kHz) to my favorite for coinshooting.

I just tried the program. I hit a patch in my yard about 100 square ft, which I pulled 10 zinklins from using Gary's hot program. I pulled 5 dimes out of the same area. The only thing I didn't like was the deep iron really grabs your attention. Seems like I have to play around with it a little longer to hear the rough edges. Maybe running in a lower freq. will help . I don't like to disc. But I wonder if I notch out the wrap around 97-99 would work.
