I like to rock also....But my leads are heavily blues based, it just happens! so that's what I stick with. Oh I still try to play like Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore..I have been working on a blues album for a long time now, thanks to computer recording studios, I lean more toward Joe Bonamassa he rocks the blues, but I always pay attention to the roots, and learn. Slide guitar still gives me fits!

They may have been referring to Mark performing/recording with Chet Atkins.
But I don't believe he did while Dire Straits were still together.
Dire Straits is closer to blues, as a lot of rock is.
