My second human tooth find, (eyeballed a molar last year)
found in in the rockpile that supported an old pier.
guessing that it got knocked out in a fight :boxing::boxing:
a big 1.8 grams and the tooth part doesn't weigh much.
I was under the impression that dental gold is 9K,
the rub from this is not affected by 14k acid, and lasts 30 seconds or so with 18k.
This seems odd and I'm thinking it may be a clue to dating it.
thinking it is a genuine tooth (rather than porcelain) as there is a clear wear mark on the tip,
and what appears to be a root canal at the edge of gold on the broken end.
Any thoughts on this are appreciated, HH all! Herbie.

I was told 8 or 9 K also.

however, the ones I found were confirmed at 22K after being tested

Thanks guys,
Jeff, that is a killer Grill :headbang: What type of area was it recovered from??
Jsweat, I wouldn't feel too bad for him, he's likely been gone for over 100 years.
Finds from this site are mostly from early 19th century

I used to buy all the dental gold I could find, when my X had a jewelry store. It will check out around 16k gold.
