In 1911 a railway line was built here in Trinity, Newfoundland, Canada. They designed the railway line to go around the small lake. They called it the Trinity Loop. The Trinity Loop railway line was used till 1984. The companies plan was to dismantle the tracks and sell for scrap. Soon after a former railwayman Clayton Cook heard this and he organizing petitions to preserve the railway loop. The company transferred the loop over to the town of Trinity. Francis Kelly purchased the land and railway loop to turned the area into an amusement park that included boat rides, beach, cabin rentals, amusement rides, a museum. They also added a small train to take visitors around the loop. The Trinity Loop Amusement Park and Resort opened June 13th 1987 and closed in 2004. In 2010 Hurricane Igor hit this area causing extensive damage. Being so costly to repair the township took over the park and is now "Crown Land" This means it is open for day use only. Since its such a popular spot to explore, sadly the old amusement park is heavily vandalized.

best time to go there is when the black bears hibernate.
or bear season .

of course an airhorn may do the trick at other times :coffee2:
